Trees and shrubs
Choose from the extensive range of apple, plum, pear, crab apple, cherry, damson and greengage. Our dwarf and semi-dwarf apple trees are perfect for patios and smaller gardens, and we also sell traditional apple trees that grow up to 25ft. All our apples are English varieties including (subject to availability): Spartan, Katy, Russet and Cox’s Orange Pippin – these are self-fertile, so you only need one tree. Autumn is the perfect time to plant, while the soil is still warm. Local delivery is available.
Using a measure of Rootgrow when planting will help the roots become
stronger more quickly.

Small but perfectly formed – trees for the small garden
You don’t need a big
garden to enjoy the
beauty of trees,
and a visit to Priory
Farm will prove it. We have a great selection of miniature winners including Amelanchier, a brilliant
little tree that
shows a froth of
star-shaped flowers
in the spring, red
berries in summer
and then out-performs
some of its bigger
rivals with its stunning
autumn colour. Amelanchier suit a wide range of soil conditions and do not need pruning. Try planting an Amelanchier near an Acer or Flowering Cherry (Prunus) or two
for extra effect.

Acers for all
We stock a variety of
species including:
Acer japonicum, Acer
palmatum and Acer shirasawanum. Japanese Acers, such as Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’, ‘Garnet’ , ‘Bloodgood’ and ‘Inaba-shidare’ are eye-catching statement
plants for any patio,
terrace or balcony. When planted in azure glazed ceramic pots, their flaming scarlet and blazing orange tinted leaves drip gracefully. For larger gardens, there is nothing like Paperbark and Snakebark maples. Their intricately etched bark has an extremely tactile texture.

Dance Of The Butterflies…
…is the translated name of one of our favourite trees, the flowering cherry “Prunus
incisa Kojo-no-mai”. It’s as pretty as it sounds, producing cascades of pinkish white blossom in
the spring. At Priory Farm we stock a big selection of flowering cherries (Prunus) suitable
for all sizes of garden
and
with
a range of flowering times
from February to May.

First choice for shrubs
Come and see our fabulous
range of spring and
summer flowering showstoppers!
Rhododendrons and Azaleas
Famous for providing resplendent displays of colour from April to June, they require acidic soil and this makes them suitable for pots filled with ericaceous compost. Best established in autumn or spring. Suit semi-shade.
Camelias
Camelias are perfect to provide a vivid splash of colour during early spring. They are best suited to a cool, shaded position away from the morning sun, and can be planted all year round although ideally in autumn or early spring. They need a lime-free environment so do well in pots of ericaceous compost.
If you’re looking for an anniversary gift, we have a selection of appropriately named camelias for Ruby, Silver and Golden anniversaries and also Happy Anniversary – do ring us on 01737 823500 to check availability.
For a stunning semi-double pink, we recommend Donation; other favourites include Debbie, a double pink and Elegans, a stunning variety with peach pink anemone-like blooms.
Clematis
These fabulous climbers can bring flower into the garden from January through to October. The number of varieties grows ever larger and by careful selection you can have a show of clematis for most of the year.
Roses
We have a large range of shrub, patio, standard, climbing and rambling roses from several specialist growers, amongst them David Austin. Along with the likes of ‘Fragrant Cloud’, ‘Peace’, ‘Rambling Rector’, ‘Bobbie James’, ‘Iceberg’, ‘Zepherine Drouhin’ you can now find commemorative roses for such occasions as ‘Queen Elizabeth rose’, ‘Olympic Flame rose’, ‘Silver Anniversary’, ‘Ruby Wedding’, ‘Golden Wedding’, ‘Celebrations’, and ‘Happy Birthday’. So, go on, say it with a rose.
