On-site nursery
Our horticulturalists nurture thousands of seedlings each year in Priory Farm’s on-site nursery. This ensures the plants are acclimatised to the local area and will settle happily into your garden. And as they haven’t travelled long distances by air or road, we are proud to be doing our bit to bring you plants that are “green” in more ways than one! We also stock an extensive range of plants for the house and garden and trees and shrubs grown for us by other local nurseries.
An unrivalled selection of hanging baskets
We use our nursery-grown plants to create a unique selection of top quality hanging baskets. With over 2,000 a year to choose from, you’re sure to find just the right size and colour combination. Each basket is filled to bursting, offering excellent value, and we always include water-retaining gel in the compost to help maintain performance during drier spells.
Our customers love the way we display our plants in an “easy to find” layout. This makes it simple to choose those that will thrive in your garden. The spring/summer home grown ranges for 2008 will be ready in May and include:
Drought-Tolerant Collection, perfect for people seeking low-maintenance beauty! Choose from a wide selection of Lavenders, aromatic Rosemary, Vinca and succulents, including a range of trailing Mesembryanthemums (Lampranthus) and the very popular Tradescantia “Purple sabre”
Nostalgic Collection, reliable favourites that have pleased for generations. A range of old fashioned cottage garden plants in pots. Specific varieties are being kept top secret … our unique range will be revealed in June!

Patio Vegetable Collection, a carefully chosen selection of mini varieties perfect for container gardening. Includes: tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines, peppers, beetroot, courgettes, sweetcorn, beans, organic vegetables and “cut and come again” salads. Take pleasure in putting together your own combinations or choose one of our “ready to go” containers. These also make great gifts that will go on delighting for many weeks – how about our Mexican Recipe (chili pepper, dwarf bean and mini tomato) or an on-going supply of fresh salad leaves?
