Discovery Walk

Discovery Walk

Priory Farm is set amidst stunning countryside … visit our Walk and explore it for yourself!

New for 2009 – access to Enchanted Bluebell Wood and Victorian Quarry

Stroll along the paths and discover fascinating snippets of information as you go … feed the ducks and fish and enjoy vivid colours, panoramic views and bold displays of flowers that appear from early spring.

The Discovery Walk appeals to visitors of all ages. It’s a natural project and changes with the seasons and there is always something new and interesting to discover.

Features include a low bridge from which to take a good look at the inhabitants of our lake and feed the fish, ducks and other wildlife who live there. Youngsters love the nature trails – a picture-based one suitable for younger children and a fact-gathering quiz for nature detectives up to around 12 years old.

Every child gets a free badge and pencil and the chance to win a £10 voucher in our monthly quiz draw.

A host of Cornish daffodils. As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2007 we planted an area with ‘Golden Anniversary’, a gorgeous daffodil from the Cornish grower Fentongollan. You can now buy these bulbs at the Plant Centre from late summer.

We are delighted to be supporting St Catherine’s Hospice and invite you to give generously when you are offered the chance to donate on the Walk.   St Catherines Hospice

To fully enjoy the Walk, allow at least an hour for your visit, especially if little ones are looking for clues on the Nature Trail.  If you would like to feed the ducks and fish, please purchase the “balanced diet” food that we sell.  We regret that we can’t allow you to bring your own.

This is what some of our younger visitors think of the Discovery Walk:
“Great fun – lots to see and some nice interactive bits too.”
“We loved it and my mummy and daddy love how safe it is for us.”
“I enjoyed it so much. I loved to feed the fish and I went home with a smile on my face.”
